See the agenda from a recent Top Tier conference.
We will start with dinner and drinks on Thursday evening. On Friday and Saturday we will have a full day of professional development, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., consisting of 5-6 sessions each day. Each session will be led by one or more of the attendees who is expert in the topic. The goal of these sessions is to provide practical lessons learned on the types of projects independent consultants work on. The topics to be covered will be chosen based on the expertise and interests of the attendees.
Potential topics include: growth strategy, innovation, post-merger integration, market landscape analysis, implementing shared services, using surveys in market research, leading a strategy off-site, organization redesign, lean operations, customer segmentation, big data.
We will also include several sessions on "soft skills." We will have an interactive session to develop our negotation skills. And we will have an additional 1-2 sessions on topics that may include: interviewing experts for market research; building trust-based relationships, influencing with integrity, managing conflict.
In addition to the content sessions, we will have a professional photographer on hand to take head shots of attendees in the Umbrex style. The cost is included in the conference fee, and attendees will receive the photo for their own use.
On Saturday evening we'll have a special event that past attendees have ranked as one of the highlights of the weekend.
On Sunday morning we will cover an additional 2-3 topics.
Note on Top Tier West: Top Tier West will cover a different set of topics, so consultants who attend both will not see "reruns."

An invitation is required to attend. To request an invitation, email events@umbrex.com. Specify which event you are interested in and attach a resume or bio. We generally require that attendees have been running their own consulting practice for at least two years and that they have previous experience at a top tier consulting firm. This event is limited to a maximum of 40 attendees.
